Very disappointing Sunday lunch at Jonah's. Had booked a couple of weeks ago and was really looking forward to it. The service was quite attentive at the start, but as the restaurant filled up it went downhill. My main meal was very mediocre - the mash potato tasted like deb (i.e out of a packet, very watery and tasteless). My scallops were small and tasted like they were off. The side order of beans were burnt and looked like they'd been sitting out for quite a while. The meals were brought to the table whilst my husband was in the bathroom and were left sitting at the table for a while until he arrived back to the table. When we finished the plates were not cleared for about 20 minutes. After our meal we sat out in the garden to have a coffee only to be bombarded by 4 screaming children, the parents were sitting up at another table and didn't seem to mind the kids running around disturbing others. I guess that part wasn't all the restaurants fault, but there are ways they could have dealt with this. I do not rate the food or service as deserving of a Hat or any other accolade other than perhaps "best view".
